"System Savvy, People Friendly IT Consultants" Jeff Platt, Founder and President
of Graphical Interface, discusses the origin of his company.
Graphical Interface began in 1989 when many people did not have computers.
Clients mostly needed business forms and business cards. With a scanner
and a computer a company was born. This was around the time Windows version
3 was coming out with its Graphical User Interface. It sounded right.
Graphics and Computers. "User" is a four-letter word.
In 1994 while working in an accounting firm, the business
turned to consulting. The partners of the accounting firm each sat me
down individually. They explained that their accounting clients had computer
needs. BUT that I better not screw up a very long and fruitful relationship
over some stupid computer deal.
The rules that govern Graphical Interface have not changed
much since those early days. Everything is done for the client`s benefit.
We do not stock our shelves with anything. We do not resell anything.
We want to be able to offer our clients the right solution without feeling
that we need to push a specific product line.
Our purchasing power allows us to get very good prices for
our clients. Our clients purchase the product. Ownership and warranty
information is properly handled in this way.
The need for a service contract always seemed wrong to me.
If you need us, you call us. If you do not need us, you do not need to
pay for us. When you need us, we will be there.
Graphical Interface continues to grow with referrals from
clients. We are not in the Yellow Pages, yet we have clients in northern
New Jersey, Center City, Conshohocken, Reading and Lancaster, Pennsylvania
, Delaware and Boston. We service many law firms, doctors and dentists,
optometrists, consulting firms, and a few steel companies. Any company
with a computer needs our services.
There is no "smoke and mirrors" with us. We explain
everything in terms you can understand and we always answer your question.
The best compliment so far is that the first law firm client back in 1995
is still a client. That to me says it all.
